Team Comments

Our first day in Cambodia took us off to remote villages. Our three hour drive took us over rugged dirt roads with very deep potholes. I had heard this was a very shaking experience and it lived up to my expectations. As we got to the villages, the peope were waiting for us in their church of three walls with a banana leaf roof. We had worship, teaching by Pastor Mony and Fran, and also team sharing. We closed with personal ministry. Before we left, 20# bags of rice were distributed to each family. Last year four tons of rice were distributed since 80% was eated by rats. Toys such as soccer balls, jumpropes, and stuffed animals along with candy and toothbrushes were distributed to the children - items they would never dream of owning.

I was surprised when ministering to the people, that language didn't matter.
I just prayed in the Spirit, and knew God would intervene on their behalf. Sometimes one would point to a part of their body, which I'm sure was in pain, but mostly we hugged and cried together. People's problems are univeral, in Cambodia, Seattle, or the outer most parts of the earth. We all want to know someone cares for us, and we matter. When you can't communicate that in words, we do in Spirit, and hugs.
It would be hard for me to pick one favorite part of the trip. We were solidified as a ministry team, and never preferred one to another. The Lord moved mightily in our midst, and we received as much of a blessing as did the women of Cambodia. Fran was such a blessing, and prepared a well balanced trip with sightseeing, praying, shopping, and ministering.
I will be forever changed, my heart goes back to Cambodia often, and as the Lord leads, I pray. My desire is to go back again, more determined than ever to bless the people of Cambodia, and see God's Kingdom come, God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
With Blessings and love,
Hope Morgan (2006)
